Major fire at a derelict factory in Stoke-on-Trent is being treated as arson

It's not thought anyone was injured in the blaze

Fire crews have said a large fire at a derelict factory site in Stoke-on-Trent is being treated as arson.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue were called to Westport Road, Burslem, at 8.10pm yesterday (Sunday 27th April).

Smoke could be seen billowing out from a building at the old Wade ceramics factory

Eight appliances went to the scene and used two main jets and two hydrants to extinguish the fire.

The blaze was put out by around 2am today (Monday 28th April).

It's not thought anyone was hurt.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service said:

"The cause was deemed to be deliberate and the incident was left with colleagues from Staffordshire Police".
