A 25-year-old man from Kidsgrove has admitted assaulting another man in Congleton - leaving him with a broken arm that needed surgery.

Danny Warner, of First Avenue, pleaded guilty at Chester Crown Court to two counts of Section 18 wounding without intent.

He will be sentenced on the 30th September.

The court heard the 24-year-old victim was standing with his girlfriend near Mountbatten Way just after midnight on the 4th June last year when Warner approached and began punching him.

The victim, who didn’t retaliate, suffered bruising, a chipped tooth and the broken arm.

Earlier that night Warner had been thrown out of a bar for aggression and ordered to leave town by an officer.

He was later found near the library and identified by the victim before being arrested.
