Congleton man jailed for sexually abusing girls as young as nine online
James Lawton has been sentenced to three-years-and-four-months in prison
A man from Congleton has been jailed for more than three years after he admitted sexually abusing young girls online.
The court heard how 23-year-old James Lawton requested sexually explicit images from a 12 and 9-year-old girl.
He told the 12-year-old he was 15-years-old, and sent her sexual pictures and videos of himself.
Officers found 368 indecent images and videos of children on his devices after his arrest.
Over 129 were category A, the most serious kind.
Lawton pleaded guilty to:
- causing a child to look at images of sexual activity
- possession of indecent images of children
- two counts of engaging in sexual communication with a child
- three counts of making indecent images of children
- possession of extreme pornography
- inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity
He was sentenced to three-years-and-four-months in prison.
Lawton is also on the sex offenders register for life and has been handed a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
