Staffordshire Fire and Rescue have confirmed they have launched an investigation into the cause of a large fire in Stoke-on-Trent.

Crews were called at 2.50am yesterday (Tuesday 2 September) to a derelict building on Market Street following reports of a fire.

Six appliances attended the scene alongside our aerial ladder platforms (ALPs) from Longton and Burton.

Firefighters have been using breathing apparatus and main jets to tackle the blaze.

The service say nobody has been reported injured and an investigation into the cause of the fire will take place in due course.
