Investigation after fatal fire in Nantwich
A man thought to be in his 60s has died

Cheshire Police has started an investigation following the death of a man in a fire in Nantwich.
Officers and crews from Cheshire Fire and Rescue Services were called to Welsh Row at around 7.15pm on Tuesday 19 May. On arrival they found a fire in a residential property which was quickly extinguished by firefighters.
A man, believed to be in his 60s, was found dead in the property and his next of kin have been informed and are being supported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the death is currently being treated as unexplained.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and a cordon is currently in place at the scene.
Detective Sergeant George Booth, of Crewe CID, said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the deceased at the current time, and we request for their privacy to be respected at this difficult time.
“Enquires in relation to the incident remain ongoing and I would ask local residents not to speculate while we establish exactly what has taken place.”
