A dog rescue charity near Kidsgrove is clearing up after its kennels were flooded during Storm Austen.
Greyhound Gap is home to almost 50 dogs.
On Friday 23rd October, 15 of them were moved to other kennels.
Water and silt blocking drains
In a Facebook post, Greyhound Gap said the flooding happened before any damage to the floors or structures had been assessed.
The charity said the fields surrounding the kennels were recently ploughed.
It said water and silt were coming in and immediately blocking the drains.
Greyhound Gap said it had been evacuating many of its dogs because more heavy rain was forecast, and moving as many as possible as soon as possible was the safest option.
It also said it might need a tanker and a pump.
Appeal for donations
Greyhound Gap said emergency boarding would cost money, but moving the dogs was the priority.
The charity asked anyone who can donate or help to contribute towards the immediate costs.
It said any money raised beyond what is needed will go towards general costs, unless donors state otherwise.
Greyhound Gap said it will keep supporters updated.
