Gangs behind Preston drug lines jailed for over 100 years
Major operation dismantles organised crime groups in the city.
Over 100 years of jail time have been secured for members of organised crime gangs in Preston responsible for flooding the streets with cocaine and heroin.
Karl Brown, 40, from Ribbleton, and Efosa Gelmini, 23, from Manchester, led two major groups that used several drug lines to distribute Class A drugs. The investigation, called Operation Tumbler, uncovered operations across Preston with significant quantities of drugs, phones, and cash seized.
Sentencing took place over 10 months, with 27 individuals charged, 24 jailed, and police releasing full details now that the last defendant has been sentenced. Karl Brown received nine years and six months, while Efosa Gelmini was sentenced to nine years.
Detective Inspector Richard Clancy of Lancashire Police expressed satisfaction at dismantling the gangs, saying it was due to hard work and relentless efforts. He pledged continued efforts in targeting drug dealers and criminal networks as part of Operation Warrior.
