Convicted rapist extradited to UK to serve prison sentence
Foisal Ahmed will now serve time in jail after he fled the country

A man who fled the country after being convicted of rape in Crewe has been brought back to Britain to serve his prison sentence.
On 19 January, Foisal Ahmed, 34, was sentenced in his absence to eight years in prison after failing to attend court.
He'd previously been found guilty of two counts of rape, engaging in controlling and coercive behaviour, and child neglect after a trial in September 2025.
The court heard officers were called to an address in Crewe back in November 2023, when the victim reported that Ahmed had assaulted and raped her multiple times over several months.
He also assaulted the victim's young child.
Detectives tracked him down in France and arrested him on 28 April 2026, before extraditing him to the UK.
Detective Constable Amy Pegnam, from Cheshire Constabulary’s Force Intelligence Bureau, said: “Ahmed attempted to evade the consequences of his actions, he believed he could escape and continue his life while the victim lived in fear, but he was mistaken."
She also thanked colleagues in France, Interpol and the NCA, and commended the victim for her bravery.
