Five charged following reports of men carrying weapons in Stoke-on-Trent

Five men have been charged following reports of people carrying weapons in the street in Stoke-on-Trent.
Police were called to Rochester Road in Longton on Saturday 11 May 2024 after receiving reports that a group of men were carrying weapons, including a firearm, a machete and a golf club.
No one was injured.
The charges
Aiden Crowder, 25, of Hanley, and 24-year-old Lewis Jones, who is currently at HMP Dovegate, have both been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
Ryan Lowndes, 28, of Blurton, has been charged with making an explosive substance with intent to endanger life or damage property.
Mitchell Spencer, 20, of Adderley Green, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.
Matthew Stevens, 24, of Bentilee, has been charged with possession of a knife / sharp pointed article in a public place.
All five men are due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre on 11 August.
