Five arrested after man found dead in Stoke-on-Trent

All suspects remain in custody as investigations continue

Five people have been arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a man in Stoke-on-Trent.

Emergency services were called to a home on Park Avenue, Werrington, just after 9pm on Wednesday (26th November), where a man in his 50s was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s next of kin have been informed, and police have confirmed that two 31-year-old men, a 29-year-old man, a 22-year-old woman, and a boy, all from the Stoke-on-Trent area, have been arrested in connection with the man’s death.

All five individuals remain in custody while enquiries continue.

Police have said they do not believe there is a wider threat to the public but acknowledged that the incident may cause concern within the local community.

The case has been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) to review the circumstances.
