Family Hub to launch inside Hanley Market
It'll offer one-stop support for all families with children, including SEND
Families in Stoke-on-Trent will soon be able to access extra support in the heart of the city, with new Family Hub services launching at Hanley Indoor Market.
For the first time, family activities and events will be on offer at what's dubbed a one-stop shop for information, guidance and support for families with children from birth to 19 - or up to 25 for those with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The new hub will officially open on Saturday 4 October, as part of the market’s Centenary celebration - Markets Time Twist. Each market is celebrating a different decade, with Hanley stepping back into the 90s. Supported by Stoke-on-Trent City Centre BID, visitors can enjoy carnival games, a movie trail, meet-and-greets with iconic 90s characters, and more.
The new family area also features a brand-new mural by popular local artist Chloe Breeze.
Councillor Sarah Jane Colclough, cabinet member for children’s services at Stoke-on-Trent City Council, said: “The new Family Hub at Hanley Market will be a fantastic addition to our city’s support network. It’s about creating a place where families feel welcome, connected and supported. By expanding Family Hubs across the city, we’re making sure families can access services wherever they live – and this new space will be a real asset for both the market and the city centre.”
