Elderly man killed in Hanley collision

An 80-year-old was died in hospital after the collision on Saturday afternoon

Staffordshie Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man died in a collision in Hanley.

The force say officers were called at 11.26am on Saturday 28 March to reports of a serious collision involving a pedestrian and a red Seat Leon on Meigh Street, at the junction of Burton Place.

The pedestrian, an 80-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious head injuries and died that night.

His family are being supported by specialist officers.

Detectives say they are keen to speak to anyone in the area with any information or dashcam footage which could help collision investigators.
