There has been a reduction in domestic abuse rates in Stoke-on-Trent.

Local data shows there were 26.7 cases per 1000 adults in the city in 2025 this is a decrease from 31.7 in 2023.

The city council says they are working with partners across the county to support victims and end domestic abuse.

Councillor Sarah Jane Colclough, Vice Chair of the Stoke-on-Trent Domestic Abuse Partnership said: “Domestic abuse is never acceptable and support is available both to those who are affected and those who want to take responsibility for their behaviour.

“These latest statistics are encouraging and show that the actions we are taking with partners to reduce domestic abuse are having an impact.

“However, this isn’t the end of the action – we still have a long way to go to ensure all perpetrators are held to account and survivors are supported. If you need support, you will be believed and you will be helped.”
