A man and woman have been jailed for over nine years combined after selling drugs in Congleton.

49-year-old Robert Machin and 22-year-old Sophie Brown admitted possession with intent to supply cocaine, heroin and cannabis.

Officers conducted a warrant in December at an address on Bradwell Grove in Congleton.

Police found drugs worth £11,415, £1006 in cash, phones, laptops, a USB stick and sim cards.

The items were evidence of drug dealing.

Both Brown and Machin were at the address, but Machin escaped over the fence using a pair of ladders.

Brown was arrested and Machin was found nine days later at an address on Canal Street.

Brown was sentenced to four years in prison and Machin for five years and 219 days.
