Operation CLEANfields kicks into action after Creamfields 2026
Volunteers mobilise to clear up after four days of music and festivities
As Creamfields wraps up its weekend of music and celebration in Daresbury, Cheshire, a major clean-up operation is now underway to restore the festival grounds.
Organisers are mobilising volunteers and resources as part of the Cleanfields initiative, aiming to manage and reduce waste left behind by festivalgoers.
Cleanfields, first introduced in 2024, represents a collaborative effort to make the festival more environmentally responsible.
This year, attendees were encouraged to sign the Cleanfields Pledge, committing to take tents and camping gear home, recycle materials, and travel responsibly.
Over the four days, festivalgoers participated in sustainability-focused activities, including interactive games and surveys designed to promote eco-friendly behaviours.
The festival also introduced a Cleanfields Hub and designated campsites, where participants could engage with the movement and earn rewards for responsible actions, such as free festival tickets.
The Cleanfields initiative successfully gathered hundreds of kilos of unopened food at donation stations, providing valuable support to local charities.
Alongside this, crews worked to ensure tents left behind were collected and potentially recycled.
