Two men have been jailed for robbery offences after a car was stolen and two men were dragged out of it in Stoke-on-Trent.

20-year-old Connor Malbon and 19-year-old Mackenzie Trevett both pleaded guilty to two counts of robbery.

Malbon was sentenced to two-years-and-nine-months in prison after also failing to comply with a community order, whilst Trevett was handed a one-year-and-nine-months sentence.

A Staffordshire police spokesperson said, "At around 3am on Saturday 25 February 2023, Malbon and Trevett were on Macdonald Crescent, Meir, when they punched two men who were sat inside a Vauxhall Corsa.

"They stole the car keys from the ignition before dragging the victims out of the car.

"Malbon and Trevett then stole a wallet and phone from one victim and wallet and shoes from the other before driving away in the stolen car.

"The car was located later that day abandoned in a field off The Wood, Meir.

"A forensic examination of the vehicle took place, and Malbon and Trevett were arrested.

"Despite initially denying the offences, both men later pleaded guilty in court."
