Police are appealing for witnesses after violence broke out in Chell Heath yesterday afternoon (8 September).

Officers were called to Chell Heath Road at around 2:20pm, following reports of men armed with baseball bats and fighting in the street.

Armed police attended but no weapons were found as those involved had fled.

Detectives have arrested two men from Stoke-on-Trent, aged 30 and 36, on suspicion of affray.

They remain in custody for questioning.

Several people have already come forward to report violence and criminal damage in the area, and neighbourhood officers are stepping up patrols to reassure the community.

Police are asking anyone who saw what happened, or who has CCTV or dashcam footage, to get in touch as the investigation continues.
