Appeal after man dies following Tamworth crash

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a crash in Tamworth.

It happened near the roundabout at Bolebridge Street, Amington Road, at around 1.10pm on Friday 28 November.

A silver Ford Fiesta and an orange Nissan Note were involved.

The driver of the Fiesta, Leonard Hobrow, aged 88, from Tamworth, died in hospital on 20 December.

His next of kin are aware and are being supported by specialist officers at this difficult time.

Paying tribute to Leonard, his family said: “Leonard was a father, granddad and great granddad and also served in the RAF and is sadly missed.”

Officers are keen to speak to anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the collision, witnessed the collision, or who may have relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time.
