Police seek footage after man dies in collision with car

Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision on the A500 in Stoke-on-Trent.

A pedestrian was hit by a black Skoda at Porthill at around 7.30pm on Saturday.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene, and his family has been informed and is being supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the Skoda was unharmed in the incident.

Witnesses reported seeing the pedestrian walking on the Middleport bound lane of the overbridge before the collision.

Police are urging anyone with CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam footage from the area at the time to come forward.

Authorities have requested that the public refrain from speculating about the incident on social media and to respect the privacy of the victim's family and friends.
