Appeal after serious crash in Warrington

A pedestrian is in critical condition

Cheshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a serious crash in Warrington, in which a pedestrian was hit by a car.

The force were called to reports of a collision on Knutsford Road, near to Riverside View car sales on Saturday (26 April).

Officers attended the scene and found there had been a collision between a 34-year-old man and a red Honda Jazz.

Initial reports suggested that the man had been riding a bike at the time of the collision, however it has since been confirmed that he was a pedestrian.

The man sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and was taken to Aintree Hospital where his condition is described as critical.

The driver of the car was uninjured and no arrests have been made.

Detective Sergeant Russ Sime, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:

“Enquiries in relation to the collision are ongoing and I would urge anyone who witnessed what happened or has any other information in relation to the incident to come forward.

“The same goes for anyone who may have any relevant CCTV, dashcam, or video doorbell footage that may aid our investigation."
