There's a yellow weather warning in Wales - meaning heavy rain and wind are expected to cause disruption and there's also a risk of flooding.

This is due to Storm Gerrit bringing in rain and wind gusts up to 50-60mph.

The Met Office have said residents may be affected by any number of the following:

  • Delays to road, rail, air, ferry transport, bus and train services
  • Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges
  • Some short term loss of power and other services
  • Some coastal routes, sea fronts and coastal communities may be affected by spray and/or large waves
  • Driving conditions may be more difficult
  • Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings
  • Fast flowing or deep floodwater could cause danger to life or communities becoming cut off by flooded roads

These areas in Wales have been named by the Met Office as likely to be the most affected by the weather:

  • Carmarthenshire
  • Ceredigion
  • Conwy
  • Flintshire
  • Gwynedd
  • Isle of Anglesey
  • Pembrokeshire

Dyfed Powys Police have said they are already addressing standing water in roads.

Those in the Pembrokeshire area have been urged to take care whilst driving and plan extra time into their journeys.
