Witness appeal after eight-person fight in Newport
Police want to hear from anyone with information after the disturbance on Church Street
Gwent Police are appealing for information and witnesses after eight people were reportedly involved in an altercation in Newport.
They were called to Church Street at around 01:10 this morning (26 October).
Officers' enquiries led to them arresting two Newport men - aged 32 and 39 - on suspicion of affray.
They say both men remain in police custody.
In a statement, police added: "Investigating officers are now asking for anyone who was on St Michael Street, Church Street and Commercial Road in Newport between the hours of 1-2am to come forward.
"We encourage anyone who has any information, including relevant CCTV or dashcam footage from around the time of the disturbance, to contact us quoting log reference 2500341642.
