Victim named as Trevethin murder investigation continues

A 37-year-old man from Cwmbran has been arrested on suspicion of murder

A 74-year-old man who died after suffering serious head injuries at an address in Trevethin has been named by police.

Nicholas 'Brian' Parfitt was found injured at a property in Bythway Roadat around 4.55pm on Thursday (23 April). He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Specially trained officers continue to support his family.

In a tribute, Brian's family said: "Brian’s passing has been a shock to both the family and the community.

"He was a well-loved dad and grandad and highly thought of in the community."

A 37-year-old man from Cwmbran has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
