Tributes paid after fatal motorbike crash in Hafodyrynys
Family remembers motorbike enthusiast Andrew Edwards known for his infectious zest for life
The family of Andrew 'Buzz' Edwards has paid tribute to the 44-year-old, following his death in a collision last week.
The incident occurred on the A472 Hafodyrynys at around 2:35 pm, on Monday 4th May.
He was pronounced dead at the scene by attending officers and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service.
Andrew's family, supported by specialist officers, shared their memories of him:
"Andrew was a loving son, partner, brother, stepdad and grandad who brought joy, laughter and warmth to everyone lucky enough to know him.
"He had a smile that lit up every room and a zest for life that was truly infectious.
"Andrew loved his family deeply and was happiest surrounded by the people he cared about most.
"He was the life and soul of every party, yet also one of the kindest and most caring people you could ever meet.
"He had a passion for fast cars, holidays, good food, and capturing photos of all our adventures together. More recently, he found a great love for his motorbike.
"Andrew was loved by everyone who met him and his loss has left a huge hole in all of our hearts that can never truly be filled.
"We will miss him every single day, but we will continue to live our lives as fully as we can — just as he would have wanted.
"One of Andrew’s favourite sayings was, “We’re here for a good time, not a long time,” and anyone who knew him will know just how truly he lived by those words.”
The family requests privacy as they navigate this difficult time and thank everyone for their supportive messages.
Meanwhile, officers investigating the collision are appealing for witnesses.
They urge anyone who was traveling on the A472 between 2pm and 2:40pm on 4th May, or has dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward.
