Sir Tom Jones has criticised bosses at ITV, revealing he didn't want to leave the Voice.

The Welsh singer has posted on social media after being dropped from the show as a full time coach.

The music legend has told followers he only learnt of ITV's decision recently - claiming he'd been told there was a "financial difficulty with insurance".

He adds - "So the only thing I know right now, is there's never a good time to fire an 86 year old who's still pretty good at his job."

Rumours suggest he'll be replaced by former X Factor judge Cheryl.

ITV has been contacted for comment.
