Man charged after body found in freezer in Porthcawl

A man has been charged after a woman in her 80s was found dead in a freezer at a house in Porthcawl.

South Wales Police were called to Poplar Crescent at around 1:45pm on Tuesday (February 17th) over concerns for the woman’s welfare.

When officers arrived, they found the woman, who was in her eighties, dead inside the property.

Christopher Phillips, aged 60 and from Porthcawl, has now been charged with preventing a lawful burial.

Officers say their investigation is ongoing.
