Police catch Cardiff man with drugs and converted blank firing pistol

A Cardiff man has been caught by police with over £10,000 worth of drugs and a converted pistol.

32 year-old Adam Pritchard had been running a Class-A drugs line in Grangetown, Cardiff.

Police attended his home address in Cambridge Street on February 22.

He was arrested in his bedroom and a quantity of heroin, crack cocaine and cash were seized

Officers recovered a modified blank-firing Glock style handgun, capable of firing a projectile.

Pritchard pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine, being concerned in the supply of Heroin, possession of criminal properly namely cash, possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin, possession of a firearm, and possession of a weapon for the discharge of a noxious liquid.

He was sentenced yesterday at Cardiff Crown Court to eight years and six months in prison.

South Wales Police says it has a 'zero-tolerance approach' to drug dealing, adding:

"We will not tolerate drugs in our communities, and we are constantly targeting those are thought to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs.

"We can, and regularly do, act upon the information provided to us by the public, so please keep it coming and continue to work with us."
