Paul Chuckle MBE will visit Penarth as part of his "Thank you" tour across the UK to celebrate 40 years of Marie Curie's Great Daffodil Appeal.

On 7th March, Paul will be in the seaside town visiting Marie Curie's shop on Windsor Road.

During his visit, the comedian will join a charity collection and meet special guests alongside the "Daff bike," a Marie Curie-branded "Chuckle bike."

Paul Chuckle's journey is part of his tour from John O’Groats to Lands’ End, with the aim of raising £40,000 for Marie Curie's flagship annual appeal

Paul Chuckle and his brother Barry became official Marie Curie ambassadors in 2016.

Paul has continued his support following Barry's death in 2018, during which Barry received care from Marie Curie.

The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie's annual fundraiser that raises funds by encouraging the public to wear a daffodil pin and donate.

Funds raised by the Great Daffodil Appeal will go towards supporting expert care for more people at the end of life.

Paul Chuckle said:

“I’m incredibly proud to be a Marie Curie ambassador. Marie Curie helped care for my brother Barry at the end of his life in 2018, so it’s a charity very close to my heart.

“When you think about it, there’s only one chance to give someone the best possible end of life. That’s why the Great Daffodil Appeal is so important.

"Every penny raised will help Marie Curie provide expert end of life care and support to people with a terminal illness and those close to them."

Marie Curie Cardiff and the Vale Community Fundraiser, Hannah Warner-Holt, said:

“We are so excited to welcome Paul to Penarth on his mammoth tour of the UK, thanking our loyal supporters and volunteers for the last 40 years of backing for the Great Daffodil Appeal.

“One in three people in Wales don’t get the palliative and end of life care they need. The Great Daffodil Appeal gives Marie Curie the chance to provide expert end of life care and support to people, whatever their illness.”
