Officers investigating a report of fraud are trying to identify a man, who may be able to help with enquires.

Police received a report of fraud after a group of people reportedly took a significant amount of money from a couple in Newport.

The group called the couples phone often, pretending to work for the police. They told them that they were being targeted by someone trying to withdraw money from their account.

In order to help the investigation and keep their money safe, they were told to take out a large amount of cash which was subsequently collected.

Officers are now trying to identify the man pictured, who was in the area at the time and may be able to help with their enquiries.

He was seen on Yewberry Lane, Newport at around 4.50pm on Thursday 30th January.

He was wearing a black coat with the hood up, black bottoms and black and white trainers. He was also wearing a face mask.
