Homes evacuated as fire rips through South Wales street
Residents have been asked to keep windows and doors closed and to follow health advice due to the smoke
Emergency services have been tackling a major property fire in Pantside near Newbridge.
The blaze started just before 4pm yesterday on Old Pant Road and has prompted a large-scale response from South Wales Fire and Rescue Service.
Nobody has been reported injured, but neighbouring properties have been evacuated as a precaution.
Thick plumes of smoke could be seen across the area, with reports of visibility affected as far as Commercial Road in Crumlin.

Old Pantside Road was closed to traffic but has now re-opened, and the public is being urged to stay away from the area to allow emergency crews to operate safely.
People are also warned not to fly drones near the site, as this could disrupt fire service operations.
Local side Newbridge RFC says it's "absolutely heartbroken" in a post on social media.
The club has offered to provide showers and changing facilities to "anyone who needs it".
