Woman dies after suspected assault in Cardiff

She and another woman were taken to hospital after the incident on Saturday

A 31-year-old woman from Barry has died following a suspected assault in Leckwith, Cardiff.

The incident was reported to South Wales Police on Saturday, 1st August.

She died at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff,

Her next of kin has been notified.

A post-mortem is scheduled, and investigations are ongoing to uncover further details surrounding her death.

Police responded to reports of an assault at a property in Langham Way at around 7:40 pm.

Two women were taken to hospital, the other has been discharged.

Daniel McCarthy, 40, from Leckwith, has been charged in connection with the assault and for failing to stop a vehicle when required by police.

He was scheduled to appear at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on the 5th August.
