Wales Head coach Craig Bellamy has announced his 28 man squad ahead of Nations League tests against Portugal and Denmark.

Wales will be without injured defenders Joe Rodon and Dylan Lawlor. The pair have established themselves as Bellamy’s preferred centre-back partnership.

Lawlor has not played since suffering an injury while on international duty against Ghana, whilst Rodon picked up an injury in late August in the Premier League.

Replacing them are Leeds defender Jayden Lienou and Cardiff forward Cian Ashford.

This is 18 year old Lienous second feature in the squad after a late call-up for Wales’ June friendlies against Ghana and Romania after initially being left out by manager Bellamy.

The left-back has been named in Leeds’s matchday squads at the end of last season and the beginning of the new campaign, but is yet to make his senior debut for the club.

Ashford, 21, has been rewarded for an impressive start to the Championship season, having scored twice for Cardiff.

Wales face a challenging start to their Nations League campaign, travelling to Portugal and Denmark later this month.

They then host Norway and Denmark at home in Cardiff in early October.

Harry Wilson and Jordan James return to the squad after recovering from injuries that ruled them out of the June fixtures, while Wes Burns is recalled following his move to Leicester.
