Man charged with attempted murder after Carmarthen Park attack

A man has been charged after a woman was attacked in Carmarthen Park, Carmarthenshire.

James McKenna, who is 57, was arrested on Monday following a public appeal by police.

He now faces charges of attempted murder, possession of a bladed article in a public place, and stalking.

Dyfed-Powys Police were called to the park just after 4pm in the afternoon on 29th January, after reports a woman had suffered stab wounds.

The scene was cordoned off and nearby Picton Terrace was closed while officers carried out their investigation.

The woman remains in hospital in a stable condition.

James McKenna is due to appear at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on Thursday (5th February).
