Appeal to identify man as part of Pontnewynydd violent disorder investigation

Police are appealing for the public’s help to identify a man seen in the area during a violent disorder incident in Pontnewynydd, near Pontypool, on Thursday 6 August.

The man in question was wearing dark clothing, including a Harley Davidson hoodie and a t-shirt with “Banff Harley Davidson” printed on the back.

Officers believe he may hold vital information to assist their investigation.

If you recognise this man or have any information that could help, you are urged to contact police.

The appeal follows the launch of a murder investigation into the death of a 56-year-old man from Brecon.

A 40-year-old man from Torfaen was arrested on suspicion of murder and has since been released on bail as enquiries continue.

Officers say there will be an increased police presence in the area while investigations are ongoing.
