Police and ambulance services responded to tragic motorcycle crash

A man has tragically died following a collision between two motorcycles on Harbour Way in Port Talbot.

South Wales Police and paramedics from the Welsh Ambulance Service were called to the scene around 2pm on Saturday, 22nd August.

The crash involved two motorcyclists, and one of the riders, a 40-year-old man from Bridgend, was pronounced dead at the scene.

H2 - Road closure and police support

As a result of the fatal accident, the road was closed in both directions for approximately 15 hours between Dock Road and the junction of the A48, reopening at 6am on Sunday.

The family of the deceased man is being supported by specially trained officers.

A South Wales Police spokesperson explained:

"South Wales Police was called at 2.15pm on Saturday, August 22 to a road traffic collision between two motorbikes on Harbour Drive, Port Talbot. One of the motorbike riders, a 40-year-old man from Bridgend, died at the scene. His family are being support by specially trained officers."
