Woman dies following Portchester house fire

Investigations are underway into the death of a woman in a house fire in Portchester.
Crews from Portchester, Cosham, Fareham, Waterlooville, Southsea and Eastleigh were called to the scene in Portsdown Road at 5.26am yesterday morning (Monday 24th).
The 66-year-old was taken to the Queen Alexandra Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
A Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary spokesperson said:
"Her next of kin have been informed.
"An investigation is underway alongside Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service to determine the cause of the fire and a scene will remain in place while these enquiries are carried out.”
