A woman has been charged in connection with a fail-to-stop collision in Bournemouth.

It comes after police received a report back in February of a collision involving a grey Renault Captur and a pedestrian in Kinson Road, near to the junction with Plassey Crescent.

Road closures were put in place, emergency services attended and the pedestrian, a woman aged in her 60s, was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that were believed to be serious but not life-threatening.

She has since been discharged from hospital.

It was reported that the grey Renault Captur failed to stop at the scene following the incident at 15:28 back on February 14th 2025.

Officers say they carried out 'fast-time enquiries at the scene' and the vehicle involved was located in the West Howe area and a woman aged in her 30s was arrested on suspicion of driving offences.

She has now been charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving, being the driver of a vehicle and failing to stop after a road accident, driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and using a motor vehicle on a road or in public place without third party insurance, following a 'detailed investigation'.

She is due to appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on Friday 12 September 2025.
