Woman assaulted in a village on the Isle of Wight

It happened in Binstead on Saturday night

Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 40s was reportedly assaulted on the Isle of Wight.

Officers say the alleged attack happened between 7:30pm and 8:30pm on Saturday evening around the Jellicoe Road and Broadway Crescent area of Binstead.

As part of ongoing investigations, officers have arrested a 32-year-old man from Ryde on suspicion of intentional strangulation and common assault. He has been bailed with conditions until 6th March 2026.

Police are urging anyone who may have seen the incident or has relevant footage, such as CCTV, dashcam, mobile phone, or doorbell camera clips, to come forward.
