Teen charged with manslaughter and arson in Alton house fire
Charges related to deaths of elderly couple

A 16-year-old has been charged following a house fire in Alton that resulted in the deaths of Stan Rickman, 91, and Roma Rickman, 88.
Emergency services were called to Heron Close, Alton, at 4am on 14th April 2025, where the fire had broken out.
Despite the attendance of fire crews and police, Stan and Roma were pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation, the teenager, who formerly lived in Alton, has been charged with two counts of unlawful act manslaughter and arson.
He is set to appear at Portsmouth Youth Court on 12th May after being bailed with conditions.
