A University of Southampton Iran expert's telling us people in Iran are worried as conflict continues.

Hormoz Ebrahimnejad telling us many people have been "left in the dark" on what could happen next with the US' involvement.

Hormoz Ebrahimnejad is an expert in modern Iran at the University of Southampton.

He said: "The problem is that this war is not sure that it will finish in a couple of weeks because of the conflicting news or narrative.

"The clerical regime in Iran say that we have not started to use our stock of missiles, whilst the Americans and Israeli forces say they've finished already 80% of their missiles or drones.

"So we really don't know whose stock is finishing first.

"That's another thing that makes us worried about the end of the war.

"We also have the experience of the Ukraine war where it started more than four years ago and people were not thinking it would last more than a year.

"So that's another issue because we don't know when this conflict will end."

Mr Ebrahimnejad told us communications are still down.

He says he has family and friends that he cannot currently reach.

He said: "There is no communication with them at the moment.

"There is no online contact and even landline phone is not possible.

"It is a big concern as we don't know whether they are safe or not."
