Police appeal after machete incident in Southampton

A 15 year-old has been arrested after wielding a machete in Southampton.

It was reported on Saturday 24 May that a male threatened another male with the weapon on Monks Way.

At around 2.45pm on Saturday, police were called. They arrested the boy on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and for using threatening or abusive words likely to cause distress.

He has been released under investigation while further enquiries are carried out.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary are urging witnesses to come forward to support their investigation.
