Man walks out of Southampton jewellery shop with £12,000 ring

Hampshire Police have released a CCTV image of a man they would like to speak to

Police are investigating after a ring worth £12,000was stolen from a Southampton jewellers.

The incident took place around 4:30pm on Saturday 5 July at H. Samuel in West Quay Shopping Centre.

It was reported a man had entered the store, and while asking a staff member to show him some jewellery he stole a ring valued at £12,000.

He then placed the stolen ring into his pocket without staff noticing and subsequently walked out of the shop.

A spokesperson for Hampshire Police said:

"We believe the man shown in this image may have information that could assist our investigation. We urge him, or anyone who recognises him, to contact us.

"You can do this by calling 101, or by reporting online via the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Constabulary website, quoting incident number 44250303106."
