Man jailed for dragging driver from car before stealing it in Boscombe

A man has been jailed after he assaulted a driver in the street and stole his car in Boscombe.
Joshua Luke Wadley, aged 34, of no fixed address, was sentenced to 20 months behind bars on Friday 18th September 2026.
He was found guilty of aggravated vehicle taking following a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court.
What happened
Police were called to Windsor Road in Boscombe at around 5.25pm on Wednesday 15th October 2025 following reports that a man had been assaulted and his car stolen.
The victim had been sitting in his stationary vehicle when Wadley approached the car and attempted to steal his bag.
He then dragged the victim out of the car and assaulted him in the road.
Wadley got into the vehicle and drove away, throwing the victim to the floor as he did so.
The victim suffered a broken rib and a broken nose, along with bruising and grazes.
Arrest and sentencing
Officers arrested Wadley in the Bournemouth area later that evening following enquiries.
He was later found guilty of aggravated vehicle taking after a trial at Bournemouth Crown Court and was sentenced to 20 months in jail on Friday 18th September 2026.

Police Constable Ted Carlton, of the Neighbourhood Crime Team, said the victim was fortunate not to have been more seriously hurt.
"This was a distressing incident for the victim who was very lucky not to have been more seriously injured.
"Officers responded quickly to arrest the defendant, and I am pleased we have been able to bring him to justice."
