Man charged with Murder following serious assault in Bitterne
He had previously been charged with attempted murder
A Southampton man has appeared in court, charged with murder, following the death of a woman in Bitterne.
34-year-old Lisa-Marie Hopkins was found with a serious head injury at a property in Harcourt Road on 29th December.
She was taken to hospital but died several days later.
Kevin Pead, 45, of The Avenue, Southampton, was previously charged with attempted murder and remanded in custody, after appearing at court.
Following consultation with the CPS, he has now been charged with murder after appearing at Southampton Crown Court.
He will next appear at court on Thursday 19th February.
