Lap dancing club allowed to continue operating despite objections

A lap dancing club in Bournemouth town centre has been given permission to continue operating for a further 12 months.
Admiral Bars (Hampshire) Ltd has applied for the renewal of the sexual entertainment venue licence at Club Temptation, located at 1 Yelverton Road, to continue operating as a lap dancing venue for another year.
SEV licences is required to enable the premises to to provide live performances of nudity for the purpose of sexual stimulating any member of an audience, referred to as “relevant entertainment”.
The premises has operated as a lap dancing club since records began in 2005.
Following a meeting on September 9, BCP Council’s licensing committee has granted the club a licence for another 12 month period.
Four objections were received against the renewal of the SEV Licence.
Concerns were raised about how the venues affects women and girls, the character of the area, operator suitability, safety and security, online advertising, and the overall impact on Bournemouth town centre.
The notice states that the committee felt “that there was insufficient evidence to establish that renewal of the licence would be inappropriate”.
