Fire crews have been tackling a fire at a block of flats in Portsmouth, which was started by an electric bike left on charge,

The blaze at Brunel House was reported at 1:40am.

Crews from Southsea, Cosham, Fareham, and Portchester attended the scene and successfully put out the fire.

The building's sprinkler system activated, helping firefighters in controlling the flames.

Three people were treated by ambulance crews.

Residents from affected floors were taken to a rest centre set up for support.
