Cyclist dies after falling of bike on Hayling Island bridge

The man was hit by a car after coming off the bike, he died a short time later in hospital

An 85-year-old cyclist from Hayling Island has died following a collision on the Langstone Road bridge.

The incident happebed at around 12.30pm yesterday (Thursday 9th April) when the man came off his bike and was then involved in a collision with a red Ford Fiesta.

He sustained serious injuries and was taken to QA hospital, where he passed away a short time later.

The man's next of kin have been informed.

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or captured footage on Dash Cam to come forward.

Witnesses are urged to contact the police by calling 101 and quoting reference number 44260165380.
