Calls for more research into epilepsy are being made by a Hampshire woman who lost two years of her memory due to the condition.

Amy-Jane Foster's had an untreatable strand of the condition since she was 11 years old - which has forced her to forget two years of her life.

She says more research would make a huge difference.

She said: "I would really appreciate more research being put into it, but also more awareness because one of the scarier things with memory problems is that it's not that well looked in to.

"As you're getting older, and if you're raising children, or got a household, or working, then having severe memory problems causes big problems.

She's telling us how research could help.

She said: "I think more awareness and research would make a difference as in we'd be able to take a deep breath and say okay, right, it's much more common than we know about.

"In a twisted way, it's quite reassuring to know that we are not alone out here.

"It's not just me being the odd one out."
