Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance say they're expecting busiest Christmas
The charity say they're expecting to surpass their deployments from last year
Hampshire and Isle of Wight air ambulance are expecting this December to be their busiest.
Last year, the charity noticed an increase of 40% in deployments and say they're currently heading towards a new record.
Sarah Thatcher's a Specialist Paramedic Lead for the air ambulance.
She said: "We are happier when we're busy because we're honing our skills and we're doing the job that we're paid to do.
"So whilst it is more pressure, it's more money that the charity needs to find, and we're working harder, that's not necessarily a bad thing from our point of view because we are here to do a job.
"We have a commitment to our patients, we have a commitment to what we do, and we are a big family.
"We try to look out for each other."
Ms Thatcher will be on base this year for Christmas.
The charity say last year they saw a 40% increase in deployments from 1842 in 2023 to 2544 in 2024.
They say they're expecting to surpass those numbers this year.
