The family of a Bognor Regis man who lost an arm and a leg in an unprovoked dog attack say he's been left confined to his living room - as they launch a fundraiser to adapt his home.

79-year-old Victor Franklin sustained life changing injuries after being knocked to the ground by two rottweilers in August 2023 while walking his own pet.

Although one of the dogs' owners has been jailed for two years and three months, the impact of the attack has been a life sentence for Victor.

"He lives in his living room. He sleeps in his living room. He goes to the toilet in his living room. He washes in his living room," his son, Lee, told Greatest Hits Radio.

"He's got no access to upstairs, to the bathroom, to a bedroom."

The family have launched a GoFundMe to raise £25,000 to install a stairlift and a wet room, as well as landscape the rear garden so Victor's able to access it again.

The money would also go towards a mobility vehicle so he can "have some freedom" - Lee continued that it would "change everything":

"Dad's had two showers in probably 14 months - and that's only because I've carried him up the stairs and that's not safe to do.

"Just getting him a stair lift in the wet room would make such a difference to to us, to his hygiene, and give him his own private space."

"Dad's a very proud man. He finds it probably embarrassing to ask people for help.

"But we need as much help as possible."
